• Chamber is keen to promote programs in supporting of the energy sector

    Sfakianakis: Several challenges facing the Saudi economy, especially inflation and the rationalization of energy consumption.
     
     

     
    The Chamber Chairman, Abdulrahman bin Rashid Al Rashid commended on the achievements that made Eastern Region the energy capital, as being a capital of the Gulf industries.the fact that Saudi Arabia is a leading global producer.
     
    AlRashid during his speech in front of the Saudi Association for Energy Economics "SAEE" hosted by the Eastern Chamber on Saturday evening 29 May, 2010 on the anniversary of the founding of this association, AlRashid said: "we recognize the wide recognition of this scientific and professional associations specializing in the energy economics in the Kingdom, as we also recognize the meaning behind the selection of the Eastern behind this association.
     
     

     
    AlRashid emphasised the chamber support to the Energy Society which comes from the fact that we encourage every initiative that we believe for its benefit outcome to the national economy. All this comes in signing the agreement to cooperate in organizing programs and lectures to support Energy Economics, the initiatives and ideas related to energy issues.
     
    For his part, Energy Society Chairman, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Sahlawi has reviewed the achievements of the association for the previous year, most remarkably the increasing number of members about 40 members at the beginning of foundation, rose to hit 120 members this year, and we expect also a large increase in the coming years.
     
    He mentioned the society activities which includes all kinds of energy, whether renewable energy or conventional energy, especially as the Kingdom is making great efforts in technology transfer in areas of renewable and alternative energy such as solar and atomic energy.
     
    Energy Predicament By Dr. John Sfakianak, Chief Economist at Banque Saudi Fransi who explained the current and future image of the Saudi economy, saying that Saudi economy has strong fundamentals in supporting his growth in the near future, although of the world economy hold back.

    The second challenge according to Sfakianak is raising the efficiency of the local workforce and local communities in the Kingdom, in order to keep up with the demands of growth and development in the country in various fields.
     
    The third challenge facing the inflation, despite the presence of factors reducing it such as the dollar strength, and lower food prices in  the world markets, But still continues its grow in the Saudi market.
